Rice Lake is still frozen, however, Spinler Pond (3/4 mile west of the park entrance) was open and had 13 species of waterfowl including 15 GREATER WHITE-FRONTED GEESE. Highlights in Rice Lake State Park: Rusty Blackbird, 2 Fox Sparrow, estimated 25 Golden-crowned Kinglet Yellow-bellied Sapsucker, 6 47 species for the day.
