We saw an adult summer tanager Monday on the trail next to the beer path
golf course in Eden prairie. My wife thought it was
a typical scarlet and grabbed me to look at the markings. The all light
red body with no black on it and a gray beak pretty much had me
convinced. Did the extra warm weather push the bird farther north than
it's usual southern Iowa migration?
