Hi,
It seems to me that we're experiencing an exceptional migration of =
Red-necked Phalaropes this fall season. I've noticed that large numbers =
of these birds have been reported in Lac Qui Parle and Jackson counties =
so far (with reports from other locations, too). Here in Brown county, =
I've had a total of 100 (as of yesterday) and there's still at least 3-4 =
weeks of migration left for them. In comparison, I went back and looked =
at my fall reports for the past two years at the Sleepy Eye sewage =
ponds. In 2004 I had a total of 9 birds and in 2005 a total of 12. =20
Good birding!
