[mou] Upland Sandpiper

Hi Matt,

I am not sure that there is a reliable place in SE Minnesota to find the
Upland Sandpiper. Looking at the 1998 Hertzel & Janssen MOU paper "County
Nesting Records of Minnesota Birds" shows only three counties (and I'm
stretching SE Minnesota to include all the counties south and east of the
Minnesota/Mississippi rivers) where this bird has been found nesting. The
three counties are Wabasha, Mower, and Scott. In addition they were found
nesting in Dakota County a couple of years ago. I don't remember the
reports in the first three counties, so the reports may not be recent. If
Dakota County is any indication, Upland Sandpipers are not seen reliably
anywhere in the county, and most years sightings if any, apparently are
birds that are passing through.
