Hello all,

A great day birding in Clay and Norman counties today. The highlight of
the day was a great gray owl in Norman Co. about 1 mile west of the
junction of MN SH 32 and CR 151. The owl was being watched closely by 3
common ravens. Here are some other highlights of the day:

Polk Co.: 12 greater prairie chickens (2 mi @\W Fertile)

Norman Co.: 1 immature golden eagle (1 mi W Gary)
4 black-billed magpies (near Twin Valley)
20 greater prairie chickens (mainly southern part of county) 1
northern shrike (3 W Twin Valley)
1 adult bald eagle (3 W Twin Valley)

Clay Co.: 1 black-billed magpie (5 mi E Felton)
40 greater prairie chickens (Felton prairies area)

Not a single hawk today. Lots of horned larks, snow buntings and american
crows. Prairie chickens everywhere!

Good Birding!

Pat
