Last night Jeanne and I led a MRVAC trip at Spring Lake Park (Schaar's
Bluff). There were 12 participants. The weather was great but there
were very few birds singing. We ended up with 26 species total, some of
which were:
@ Blue-gray Gnatcather (heard several)
@ Rose-breasted Grosbeak (great looks with the sun shining on the breast)

@ Cooper's Hawk (bird on nest)
@ Red-bellied Woodpecker (going partially in and out of a tree cavity)
@ Four species of warblers (yellow-rumped, Palm, American Redstart (seen
by some and heard by others)

Even though the birds were few, it was a great night for a stroll in the
woods and for seeing some of the Spring wild flowers.
