This is the Minnesota Birding Report for Thursday, May 18th.

Jerry Bonkoski found a EURASIAN WIGEON in Beltrami County on May =20
17th. The bird was on the rice paddies found about eight miles =20
northeast of Waskish. These paddies are on Rice Paddy Road off of =20
Beltrami County Road 40. Check the second pond on the west.

A SNOWY EGRET was seen on the 11th east of Lonsdale, Rice County, but =20=

the directions were not specific enough for me to give an exact =20
location.

A flock of 11 CATTLE EGRETS was along the east shore of Big Stone =20
Lake in Big Stone County on the 12th.

On the 14th, Dee Kuder found a NORTHERN HAWK OWL along state highway =20
65 about 30 miles north of Nashwauk in Itasca County.

Two NORTHERN MOCKINGBIRDS were seen in Cook County on the 17th. One =20
was at the Grand Marais municipal campground and the other seen in a =20
horse pasture along Cook County Road 14, about a mile and a half =20
north of state highway 61. Another Northern Mockingbird was found on =20
the 17th in Cloquet, Carlton County, at Veteran=92s Park off Carlton =20
Avenue.

Ed Levering found a LOUISIANA WATERTHRUSH on May 18th in Maple Grove, =20=

Hennepin County. It was heard singing at Elm Creek along 93rd Place =20
North.

On May 11th, a WESTERN TANAGER was at Bonnie DeLare birdfeeders on =20
May 11 along the 13000 block of River Road in Grand Rapids, Itasca =20
County. Another Western Tanager has been coming to a feeder in =20
Embarrass, St. Louis County, since the 10th. Anyone interested in =20
looking for the bird should call the homeowner, Judy Stecker, at =20
218-984-3433 for directions and details.

The next scheduled update of this tape is Thursday, May 25th.
