[mou] feeder frenzy

Things have been hopping madly at the feeders again today. Along with a
female "Oregon" junco, the red-bellied woodpecker made another appearance,
this time perching on the overhang above the back door (2 feet from the
kitchen window), to swoop in and snatch black oil sunflower seeds, which he
spirited off to a telephone pole in the alley. I'm starting to suspect this
snatch and stash behavior has significantly accelerated the depletion of the
feeders, especially since there were 3 RBWOs in a neighbor's tree yesterday.
Still, there were at least 8 chickadees making forays, and finches in
numbers challenging to count. At least the downies, nuthatches, cardinals
and bluejays have so far come in groups no larger than 4!
Hoping the siskins return and the redpolls finally show,
