This is the Minnesota Birding Report for Thursday, February 8th 2007.
There is little birding news this week, mostly because the cold weather
has greatly reduced the number of reports coming in.
The GREEN-TAILED TOWHEE is still visiting the feeder in the town of
Mountain Lake, Cottonwood County and was seen as recently as the 7th.
>From state highway 60 exit onto 3rd Avenue and drive to 10th Street.
Turn north on 10th street and drive to the edge of town to a cemetery
and lake on the left. The feeder is in front of the pale green house,
which is the second to the last building on the right side of the road.
The three GRAY-CROWNED ROSY-FINCHES at the Fond du Lac Resource
Management Division office just west of Cloquet in Carlton County were
all seen as recently as the 8th.
A VARIED THRUSH is visiting a feeder in Grant Township, Ramsey County
and has been for about the past two weeks, though I have no specific
information.
And a SPOTTED TOWHEE is visiting the Sheehan home at 2503 - 7th Avenue
SW in Austin, Mower County. Spotted Towhees are rare but annual vagrants
in Minnesota.
The next scheduled update of this tape is Thursday, February 15th 2007.
