My good  friend the late Al  Grewe did extensive  work on Great =20
Horned Owls and there nesting Habits.  I distinctly recall him =20
commenting, on how detrimental winter hikers were on owl nesting =20
success.  Once flushed from a nest, an incubating Great Horned Owl is =20=

not likely to soon return.   Given the time of year these birds nest, =20=

the eggs are likely to be compromised. In the interest of the bird,  =20
I=92d strongly suggest staying away from incubating owls,  and not =20
giving up their nest locations.
