I was out birding today with Kit & Al Ferber.
Highlights:
-Great Gray Owl along the Hedbom Logging Trail Road. This is the same =
owl that has been reported numerous times by several birders. 3.4 miles =
west of the 5 road intersection or 2.4 miles west of the east gates.
-Snowy Owl seen at 4:15pm east of Goodwill building along Garfield then =
later on top of a telephone pole in the field at Garfield Avenue and =
Railroad St.
-Boreal Chickadees along Owl Ave. in Sax Zim Bog=20
-Evening Grosbeaks at two feeders on the Lake Nichols Rd near the Sax =
Zim Bog area.
-1st cycle Iceland Gull at the Superior Landfill
-1st cycle Glaucous Gull at the Superior Landfill
-Adult Thayer's Gull
* Missed out on the Townsend's Solitaire at Park Pt. The last sighting =
was 1/5/07=20
* Missed on the Harlequin Ducks
* Missed on the Gyrfalcon
The weather was very cold and windy. We looked hard for the woodpeckers =
but there was to much wind!
