Pt. Douglas
The Slaty-backed Gull was about 150-175 m from the Wisconsin shoreline at Pt. Douglas today and afforded excellent digiscoping opportunities. This bird is probably a 4th cycle individual as the outer 3 rectrices still retain some darkness in the centers and the bill has a some dark markings on both mandibles. It otherwise appears as an adult. It clearly is a different individual from the bird present at Black Dog in Dec.
