[mou] Red-tailed's in the Neighborhood

I have noticed that in the winter, at least 2 Red-tailed Hawks have been =
seen regularly perching and soaring in my neighborhood (Golden Valley.) =
I saw two adults last year and one adult and one juvenile this year. =
These are year-round residents in southern MN, but I never do see them =
here in the summer. I see them near the interchange of Highway 55 and =
169 in the summer, which is about 1-2 miles away from my neighborhood. I =
have thought of a few possiblities for this movement:
a) migrants from Northern MN
b) loss of prey in winter near highways
c) fear of compitition from nesting Broad-winged Hawks and Cooper Hawks
If anyone has an idea, please let me know. Thank you and good birding--
