Headed out this pm to see if I could find the Gyrfalcon by 180th St in Dakota county. Took 1 loop around the field with the LARGE flock of Mallards and Canada Geese (8000+ ??) and when I got back to 180th just east of Donnelly the Gray Phase Gyr was sitting on a telephone pole on the north side of the road. Had great a great look at it and then it flew due north out of sight. This was ~4:00 pm. Thanks to Denny Martin whom I spoke with, convincing me to make one more lap around the section. There was also a flock of ~150 Lapland Longspurs just in front of the feeding ducks.
