[mou] Black-crowned Night Herons (Hennepin Co.)

I was pleasantly surprised to find both B-C N Herons at Cortlawn Pond in Golden Valley. I don't think I've seen both of them together since April. One was on the shoreline (in the shadows of the trees) and the other one was on a conspicuous dead branch. On my canoe, I was lucky enough to witness it fly out 15 feet offshore, land briefly into the water, and fly back up to its original perch. Its prize? An 8 inch fish! (probably a bullhead) Good birding~
