I have posted a new video on youtube.com of the Yellow-rumped Warbler that
has been at my feeders since Nov. 29th. I've also had a White-throated
Sparrow overwinter.

The warbler is an amazing little bird that survived 3 nights of 30+ below
temperatures and a couple weeks of 20 below temps, those temps don't factor
in the wind chill which was horrendous at the time. Crane Lake is in the
very far north of St Louis County and is located only 4 miles from Canada.

You may have to copy and paste the link into your address bar.

If that doesn't work, you can search for the video: Yellow-rumped Warbler &
White-throated Sparrow.

For a video that I took Feb 3rd, go to the "More from this User" tab just to
the right of the video. Scroll down to Yellow-rumped Warbler. It is very
interesting to note the plumage - his breeding plumage is starting to come
in. I hope to get more pictures of him as he changes. I am curious to know
if the bird is a male or female, any advice?

The yellow on the very top of the head is just starting to appear - do both
male and female have the yellow patch?

It has been a fun winter! (I apologize for the poor quality of the video -
bad lighting)

p.s. early yesterday morning, Monday, I heard a calling Saw-whet Owl.
