10:00 A.M. - 12:00 noon
Counted approximately 300 Bald Eagles migrating northward at one location along the Mississippi River about 2/5 miles south of the confluence with the St. Croix. One "kettle" contained 35 birds. Eagles were constantly in view during the entire 2 hours, often in groups of 5-10. I looked unsuccessfully for Goldens. Except for eagles and gulls, a generally light migration Other migrating birds of interest included:
Red-tails - 40
Red-shouldered Hawk - 2
N. Harrier - 1
Sharpshinned Hawk - 6
White-fronted Goose - 15
Gulls - many 100's (90% Ring-billeds)
Also, at 9:00 A.M. the Gyrfalcon was perched on a pole on the east side of Goodwin Ave between 150th and 160th.
