Today, March 18th, there was a flock of 10-12 Long-tailed Ducks off
Stoney Point and one lone Canada Goose. Very few mergansers along the
shore. One group of 8 red-breasted mergansers Knife River. Before the
big snowstorm of March 1st there were groups of 20-50 mergansers, both
common and red-breasted, where the ice ended from the Lakewood Pumping
Station to Sucker Bay. Wonder if they survived the blizzard.

One pair of Merlins at Two Harbors, probably setting up territory; very
noisy.
