I have a new yard bird.
I spotted a Barred Owl this morning during my breakfast as it flew into =
a tree in my back yard. And now I just re-found it during a late lunch. =
It caught my eye as it shook off the rain from its feathers. It is =
visible from my living room. How nice it is to watch interesting birds =
with the scope set up by the coffee table on a gray, rainy day.
I have not heard one calling in the area, so this was a real surprise.
The bird is in the wooded area on the east side of the duck pond to the =
northwest of my lot.
Our neighbor with the nesting E. Screech Owls reports the egg laying =
started this Wednesday.
