There appears to be a W-T Sparrow hybrid at Cortlawn Pond (Hennepin Co.) It had much streaking, which all were crisp, and at the end of the streaking, somewhat spotted. I would have to say it would be W-T Sparrow mixed with a Melospiza sparrow, either Song or Lincoln's (the streaking wasn't quite as crisp as Lincoln's, but it well could be.) The face appeared to be the same, as I saw its distinct face pattern. It was like a "dirty" white-striped adult; not quite tan-striped, as the yellow lore's were still conspicuous. Its call was similar to a W-T's, but it was quieter and not held as long. It responded well to my pishing in a brushy tangle near the water. Has anyone ever seen this before?? Quite bizarre, I wish I could take some pics (but I have no quality-camera.) If someone else would like to get some pictures, e-mail me back.
As for warblers, I only found 2 on the entire trail! It was very quiet. :(
