I'd love to have you stop by and see me if you're coming to Duluth in June
or early July! Our peregrine babies are charming, entertaining and
breathtaking (if you visit during 'Fledge Week'!), and I'd love to share
them with you!

2007 Peregrine Watch in Duluth is underway!
In 2006 Peregrine Watch was established as a way to monitor and teach about
Peregrine Falcons in Duluth, MN. Over 3600 people got to take a look at a
nesting pair of peregrines on the side of an historic building in downtown
Duluth through the scope of Hawk Ridge naturalist Julie O'Connor. Julie was
able to teach visitors about the history, life history and ecology of
peregrines, using the nesting pair and their chicks as her teaching tools.
Because the 2006 season was so well-received, Hawk Ridge has expanded the
staffing and hours of operation for this summer's Peregrine Watch!
The 2007 season promises to be just as exciting as 2006, with four babies in
the nest that hatched in mid-May. Julie, Debbie and their volunteer
interpreters are posted on Duluth's Lakewalk with a telescope each day from
Memorial Day weekend till after the babies fly (sometime between June 19 and
26, based on hatch dates). Peregrine Watch is free to the public and group
programs are available.
For more information, visit the Peregrine Watch web site at

www.hawkridge.org/education/peregrines.htm. You may also contact Julie at
218-348-2291 or <mailto:peregrines at hawkridge.org> peregrines at hawkridge.org.
Peregrine Watch is sponsored by Hawk Ridge Bird Observatory and the City of
Duluth, and is generously supported by Binoculars.com, Fond du Luth Casino,
the Raptor Resource Project , Laura Erickson, michaelfurtman.com and ShelDon
Reproductions.
