As you all know there will be a winter bird festival this coming February 15th-17th in Meadowlands, Minnesota or what birders call "Sax-Zim Bog".

The on-line registration is now ready for use!! So if you would like to make your reservations for the festival please visit the website and fill out the registration form.
This is Minnesota's only winter bird festival and it's a great opportunity for birders to come up and see some terrific winter birds like: Sharp-tailed Grouse, Great Gray Owl, American-Three-toed Woodpecker, Black-backed Woodpecker, Northern Shrike, Gray Jay, Black-billed Magpie, Boreal Chickadee, Snow Bunting, Pine Grosbeak, Purple Finch, Red Crossbill, White-winged Crossbill, Common Redpoll, Hoary Redpoll and Evening Grosbeak. Other festival possibilities are: Gyrfalcon (Duluth Harbor), Thayer's Gull (Duluth Harbor), Iceland Gull (Duluth Harbor), Glaucous Gull (Duluth Harbor) Snowy Owl (Duluth Harbor) Boreal Owl, Northern Saw-whet Owl, Bohemian Waxwing and western strays like Harlequin Duck, Varied Thrush or a Townsend's Solitaire.
Speakers: February 15th: Dave Benson "Owls of the North" Dave will have his book "Owls of the North" there for birders to purchase. February 16th: Laura Erickson will talk about birds and how they survive the winter months in northern Minnesota.
