[mou] Loons on Phalen Lake

Yesterday afternoon (April 17) I counted at least 50 Common Loons on Phalen Lake in St. Paul, Ramsey County.  I'm also estimating well over 100 Red-breasted Mergansers.  I counted birds from both ends of the lake, but noted many other individuals along the shore as I drove.  The ice has retreated from the shore, but it's hanging on.
