A flock of 9 Black-bellied Plovers landed at Purgatory Creek (Eden Prairie) just before 8pm. The birds were constantly in flight, but they always landed (and eventually roosted) in the northeast section of the large central sandbar.
The habitat has improved even more, with some shorebirds very close to the blind. 11 species total:

-Semi Plover (1)
-Killdeer
-B-B Plover (9)
-Greater Yellowlegs
-Lesser Yellowlegs
-Solitary Sandpiper (1)
-Semi Sandpiper
-Least Sandpiper
-Pectoral Sandpiper (<5)
-Stilt Sandpiper (1)
-Baird's Sandpiper (several)

In addition, there were 2 Caspian Terns and an apparent small influx of Green-winged Teal (ducks also seen on the 17th.)

At Westwood Hills Nature Center (St. Louis Park), I found a warbler wave that contained 7 species.

And so begins my last fall in Minnesota! Good birding-
