Birded the Duluth/Sax-Zim area Thursday through Sunday.  Thursday night; snowy owl on airport rd.  Friday at Sax-Zim; N. Hawk owl, usual spot, two boreal chickadees at deer carcass on admiral rd., both redpolls, both grossbeaks, gray jay @ Morse feeder, three toed woodpecker on admiral rd. first set of trees N. of Zim Rd.,  at least two three toed woodpeckers and a black backed woodpecker along with at least two hairy woodpeckers on McDavitt Rd. on W. side of road across from a logging trail about half way between sax and zim rds.  look for the white/red post on E. side, two B.B. magpies on sax rd. by cranberry rd., snow buntings on CR 7 at sax Rd.  Sunday; red crossbills and S.T. grouse in Aitkin Co.
