There is a Barred Owl perched in a spruce tree a few feet from my deck this morning --- a few miles west of Grand Marais. It appears to be in "sleep" mode, not hunting, and mostly oblivious to the chickadees and the red squirrel that are harassing it. Bruce Stahly Grand Marais
