Here is a list of upcoming MOU field trips and sponsored events:  
 
March 15th - Henderson Area(Southern Scott, Northern LeSueur & Eastern
Sibley Counties)  Birders will meet at 8am at the Blakeley Township Hall
at the intersection of U.S. 169 and 250th St. W. located 3.8 miles south
of Belle Plaine.  From there they will explore the Minnesota River
Valley on both sides of the river with long time Henderson residents Art
and Barb Straub.  A complimentary continental breakfast will be
provided, but birders should furnish their own lunch.  There is a soup
and sandwich bar in Henderson where lunch can be acquired.  To register

public.
 
April 26th-27th - Salt Lake Weekend(Lac Qui Parle and Big Stone
Counties)  Birders will meet for breakfast on 
Saturday morning at the Marietta American Legion located one block west
of Co. Rd. 7 on Hwy 4.  They form into groups and head out for the
morning.  At noon they stop back there for lunch.  Saturday night there
is a chicken dinner at 7:30pm at the Sons of Norway Hall on Hwy 75 in
Madison, eleven miles east of Marietta.  Reservations are required for
the dinner and should be made with Becky Skallerud at 320-598-3797 or
beckaberk at yahoo.com.  The cost of the dinner will be $10.  Lodging is
available in Madison, Montevideo, Dawson, Appleton or Canby.  Camping is
available at Prairie Marsh Farm, 1770 151st Ave., Marietta, located 7
miles west of US 75 and 1.5 miles south of US 212.  Contact Ken Larson

open to the public.  
 
May 17th - Sherburne NWR(Sherburne County)  Birders will meet at 7am and
bird until noon with an optional afternoon trip.  The emphasis will be
on warblers and other passerine migrants, resident grassland birds and
remaining shorebirds.  Birders will hike two trails and drive the Auto
Tour in the morning and cover lesser known areas in the afternoon.  This
trip is open to 20-25 participants.  Contact Al Schirmacher at

This event is free and open to the public.
 
June 6th-7th - Eagle Bluff Environmental Learning Center(Fillmore
County)  Birders will arrive at the learning center on Friday evening
and do some night birding for owls and Whip-Poor-Wills.  On Saturday
birders will hike the trails on site with assistance from the staff.
There is a fee of $70 per person for this trip which covers lodging on
Friday night and 3 meals.  Contact Bob Williams at

information.  This event is open to the public.  
 
June 21st - Aitkin County  Birders will meet 7am and bird until noon
with an optional afternoon trip.  The emphasis will be on nesting
warblers(including Connecticut), flycatchers, woodpeckers, vireos,
wrens, thrushes and sparrows.  The focus will be on the areas north and
east of the town of Aitkin and Rice Lake NWR.  This trip is open to
20-25 participants.  Contact Al Schirmacher at

August 8th-10th - Shorebird Workshop  For information about this special
