A second MOU mailing net has been added. The name is mou-rba with an email
address of mou-rba at moumn.org. This net is ONLY for notable sightings.
"notable" means
casual
accidental
new state records
rare regular (this list is being set up)
new county records
All messages posted to [rba] are copied to [mou].
All messages posted to [mou] with a "notable bird" in the subject line are
copied to [rba].
You don't need to subscribe to both mailing lists, since anything on the
[rba] list is posted to the [mou] list. You can make a choice about what
you want to receive.
If you want your mail to be limited to "notable birds", unsubscribe from
mou-net (or set the no-mail option for mou-net) and subscribe to mou-rba.
If you are subscribed to [mou] and you want to post a "notable bird",
include the bird and the county in the subject line and it will be posted to
[rba].
Posting to the opposite list. You need to be subscribed to a list in order
to post to that list. You can subscribe to the opposite list and set the
"nomail" option.
Questions:
Q1. How do I set the "nomail" option?
A. From the MOU page http://moumn.org/, click on
mou-net Internet -> Subscribe, Unsubscribe, or Set Options
Enter your email address in the lower box and hit "Edit options or
unsubscribe"
Enter your Password and hit "Log in" (if you don't know your password,
click on the "Remind" button.)
Scroll down and set the "Mail delivery" option to "Disabled", then click on
"Submit My Changes".
Q2. Can I be subscribed to both lists?
A. Yes, but you will get two copies of all messages that go to [rba] and one
copy of all messages that go to [mou]. If you want to limit the amount of
messages that you get from [mou] if is best to set the nomail option on
[mou] and subscribe to [rba].
Q3. Where should I post a "notable bird"?
A. Post to [mou-net] and have the computer determine if it is a "notable
bird". The criteria for "notable" may change with time.
Q4. Where are the hotlines posted?
A. They are posted to [mou-rba] and copied to [mou-net].
Q5. Why does the Subject: line have both [mou] and [rba]?
A. The message was posted to one of the lists and has been copied to the
other list.
