I was meandering through Cedar Creek SNA (East Bethel) while helping conduct a red-headed woodpecker survey. Here were today's highlights:

-Red-headed Woodpeckers (13, including two nest sites and one ready-to-fledge young)
-Purple Finch (1 male perched briefly)
-R-S Hawk (1 flyover)
-Lark Sparrows (15)
-Eastern Towhees (3; all singing)
-Grasshopper Sparrow (1)

Of course, that was all in addition to many other regulars...
