'Rare Regular' in Minnesota - Five or fewer records in Beltrami County for the Fall season
This Lesser Black-backed Gull was with a large flock of Ring-billed Gulls behind the Hampton Inn hotel just west of the Nymore Boat landing on the south side of L. Bemidji. This is the first local record for this gull and the second county record, the first of which was recorded just this spring near Upper Red Lake, and this is possibly the same bird which was also an adult. The bird flew up along with the other gulls when a Bald Eagle flew over and disappeared toward downtown and Diamond Point.
