Occasional in Anoka County in the Fall season
'Tis Ammospiza season! Found this LeConte's Sparrow this morning at the north end of Carlos Avery WMA. Now through the first or second week of October is a good time to spot both this species and Nelson's Sparrow as they migrate through the southern half of the state; look for them in wet, open grassy areas with native vegetation (often at the edges of ponds or other wetlands).
