Green Heron in Hennepin County

Common in Hennepin County in the Fall season

Juvenile green heron. Found by the Tallmans at Walker Sculpture garden next to Walker Art Center in downtown MPLS. There were 4 birds roosting in spruce trees next to a small pond. They were absolutely unworried about pedestrian traffic as they were perched directly above the sidewalk. They all appeared to be juveniles. According to a worker at the greenhouse the birds nested in the spruce trees.
