American Avocet in Rice County

Occasional in Rice County in the Spring season

One of a flock of 36(!) avocets feeding in the wetland on CR 1 just west of Bagley Ave. This area looks like a flooded field, but it's been this way for several years now, and I am quite sure it will now be a wetland. Also present were Lesser Yellowlegs and numerous waterfowl.
