Common in Olmsted County in the Summer season
Saw this at my feeder yesterday. The extensive red on its back and minimal flank striping led me to believe this was a Purple Finch. However, after reviewing other field marks suggested by Kim Eckert I now believe it to be a House Finch. The other field marks are the curved culmen not straight, brown not red flank stripes, short primary extension, and grayish face pattern.
