'Rare Regular' in Minnesota
This subadult Parasitic Jaeger spent most of the day harassing gulls off parking lot #1 at the base of Wisconsin Point. Later that same afternoon, I spotted a distant jaeger at the Superior Entry that was probably also a Parasitic. Daryl Tessen recently summarized the highlights from a week of birding at Wisconsin Point. He felt that at least 12 different Parasitic Jaegers were seen during the week of 19-26 September, including a "jaeger slam" on Monday the 26th when an adult Long-tailed and a Pomarine were seen in addition to several Parasitics. Wisconsin Point can be reached by taking Moccasin Mike Road off US 53/US 2 at the east end of Superior. Parking lot #1 is the first parking lot that you will see on your right. The Superior Entry at the tip of Wisconsin Point forms the state line between Wisconsin and Minnesota. For more information on these sightings, please see the postings by Tom Schultz and Daryl Tessen at https://www.birdingonthe.net/mailinglists/WISC.html
