'Rare Regular' in Minnesota

Adult male Barrow's Goldeneye (Bucephala islandica) found by Greg Garmer along the Duluth Lakewalk near 21st Ave East, Duluth. This in flight image depicts the diagnostic facial crescent and wing pattern of this species. This is probably the same individual that overwintered in Duluth 1 November 2008 through 3 March 2009, and 17 November 2009 through 16 March 2010.
