Common in Hennepin County in the Summer season
Paul McDowall comments: My neighbor, Mike Kasbohm, snapped this last year (but the bird is still hanging out in the field behind our houses) We thought it was a Gyrfalcon.
Paul Budde comments: There was a albino or leucistic Red-tailed Hawk reported near Purgatory Creek and Black Dog last winter, but I never saw it. I also don't know how someone identified it as a Red-tailed.
Anthony Hertzel comments (based on another photo): The bulge in the trailing area of the secondaries visible on the bird in flight is a dead giveaway that this is a Red-tailed.
