Uncommon in Rice County in the Summer season

Two Purple Martins appear to have taken up residence in this old abandoned martin house in Northfield — at least they have been landing on the structure. It had already been taken over by House Sparrows. There haven't been Purple Martins in Northfield for several decades, so seeing them here is good news. But would they actually tolerate being in the same house as House Sparrows?
