0000-00-00

'Casual' in Minnesota - Five or fewer records in Brown County for the Fall season

On Saturday, September 29th at 11:30 a.m. Brian Smith found a juvenile Western Sandpiper in a mixed flock of shorebirds at the Sleepy Eye wastewater treatment ponds. Key field marks were the rufous scapular feathers, long, slightly drooping bill, pale breast and face. The Sleepy Eye wastewater ponds are located two miles south of Sleepy Eye on Hwy. 4. Check the exposed gravel bar on the northwest pond by the front entrance.
