'Rare Regular' in Minnesota

This first-cycle Great Black-backed Gull (GBBG) was originally found by Kim Eckert on the 17th near the Gerdau Ameristeel building off Garfield Avenue in Duluth. It was refound on the afternoon of the 17th and again on the 18th near the mouth of Miller Creek, Duluth. To reach this location from I-35, take the 27th Ave West exit, cross over to the bay side of the freeway, take the first left by the WLSSD sewage treatment buildings, and continue east ~1/2 mile until you see the gulls and mudflats on your right. This or another first-cycle GBBG was also seen at the Superior Landfill, Wisconsin, on the afternoon of the 16th and at about 1:00 PM on the 18th.
