Glaucous Gull in St. Louis County

Common in St. Louis County in the Spring season

One of two first-cycle Glaucous Gull (Larus hyperboreus) observed on both sides of the Minnesota-Wisconsin state line at the Superior Entry, 11 May 2011. Although this is about three weeks later than the median north departure date for this species in Minnesota, it's not uncommon to see immatures lingering well into May at the Superior Entry.
