'Accidental' in Minnesota

This first-cycle Ivory Gull was found at Canal Park, Duluth, 7 January 2008 at 11:24 AM. It was standing on an ice floe east of the Canal Park tourist area (near the Maritime Museum). Between 11:37 and 11:42 AM, it flew around before landing on another ice floe. For the rest of its stay, it was best seen from the "corner of the lake" near the Canal Park Lodge. At 1:40 PM, it got up and began circling high overhead, and flew off to the west. If accepted, this would become Minnesota's 11th state record and the first since December 1991 (Loon 64:3-5).
