'Accidental' in Minnesota - Five or fewer records in Mower County for the Spring season

Photographed 4 May 2008 in Mower County. The bird was present for only a few hours and it has not been seen since. This observation would represent only the second state record for this species in Minnesota. Unless the kite returns, the observer prefers that, for the moment, his name and exact location not be given out.
