Red Crossbill in Brown County

Occasional in Brown County in the Winter season

Red Crossbills originally reported by Brian T. Smith. These three (1 male and 2 females) have been feeding on spruce cones at the New Ulm Cemetery along with 20-30 White-winged Crossbills. These birds are relatively tame and cooperative and were commonly coming within arms reach and feeding on the road. This was my first experience with both species.
