Great Blue Heron in Scott County

Common in Scott County in the Summer season

Fishing lessons appear in order for this Great Blue Heron. It appears as though he speared the fish with upper and lower beaks too far apart and couldn't handle the next step (see insert). He looked for it but while I watched he didn't regain his meal.
