Summer Tanager in McLeod County

'Rare Regular' in Minnesota - Five or fewer records in McLeod County for the Winter season

This Summer Tanager was found munching on crabapple fruit, suet and sunflower seeds moments before the snow started to fall on December 7. The sighting occurred on the bank of the south fork of the Crow River in Hutchinson. There are records of this species being spotted recently in a nearby neighborhood by the Halls and Pete Hoeger.
