California Gull in Anoka County

'Casual' in Minnesota - Five or fewer records in Anoka County for the Spring season

An adult California Gull was found around noon on the eastern end of Centerville Lake. After a short observation it disappeared from view for the entire afternoon despite much searching around the lake by myself and others. It reappeared in the early evening on the south end of the lake being found by Scott Meyer and Doug Kieser. The next morning there were many birders searching as the ice was quickly disappearing from the lake, but I was told that the bird could not be found.
