'Casual' in Minnesota - Five or fewer records in Washington County for the Fall season
The Wood Stork that has been visiting the farmsted on the west side of 15710 Manning Ave N. in Washington County continues to provide excitement for many birders hoping to see it. This morning in the hazy sunshine this large bodied, long-legged, thick downcurved bill visitor leisurely waded along the shallow edges of the farm pond stirring its feet in quick circles then probing its bill in for breakfast. After 15 minutes of foraging it took flight across the pasture to roost in a grove of trees with the Great Egrets.
