Uncommon in St. Louis County in the Spring season

Red Crossbill juvenile begging for food from adult male. Echo Trail near Ely. Adult male and adult female and three juveniles in this group. Red Crossbills can nest any month of the year when they find an abundant food source. This pair may have been nesting in late winter!
