Uncommon in Rice County in the Spring season

The Bobolinks have returned to Koester Prairie in large numbers. I found at least 60 males flying about and trying to maintain perches on shrubs in the 20-mph-plus winds. Occasionally a female would emerge from the grass, and a male would engage in pursuit. The Koester Prairie Unit of Prairie Creek WMA is on the east side of Lamb Ave. about a mile south of CR31.
